The consumption of liver as a
dietary source has been traced back as far as 4,000 years ago where it
was first used by the ancient Greeks.  Liver has often been referred to
as “The World’s Most Perfect Food”, and for good reason! It is a
natural, high source of high quality protein and a highly absorbable
form of iron.  It is also rich in numerous other vitamins and minerals
including Folic acid, Selenium, Phosphorus, Zinc, Vitamins A,C, D, B6,
B12, calcium, copper, riboflavin, niacin, and cod liver oil!  Just to
name a few!  Liver has been around and used as supplements in body
building for more than 5 decades.  The supplement form is referred to
as Desiccated Liver (dried liver in tablet form).  It is one of the
first supplements ever used to increase muscle size, strength, and
endurance.  It has been used by many Mr. Universes, Mr. Olympias, and
Mr. Americas.  Even our very own Mr. America, Red, admits it is one of
his favorite supplements that he has been taking ever since he was a
kid. Almost anyone can benefit from the consumption of liver.  In
addition to building muscle mass, it comes with various other important
health benefits.  The high absorption of Iron helps fight off the
fatigue of anemia, while the B-complex vitamins are essential for
carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism which promotes energy
production.  Vitamin A, C, and Zinc helps to build up your immune
system.  This combination helps to keep you healthy, active, and full
of energy.  It also increases endurance and improves recovery time
after exercise, and has been shown to contribute to bone health.  If
you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should not take this
supplement.  It is not recommended for young children and anyone with a
chronic health condition should consult their doctor before taking.
Desiccated Liver tablets are now available in the Snack bar for
purchasing along with other various supplements.
