There were mock slot machines on all the posters, flyers and tickets. 7 fighters lined up across in each window, we ran into a small problem; with the death in the family of one fighter he was unable to come in. Then we had problems with another guy getting here. So, we moved forward, without error. "Lucky 7" turned into Sensational 6, overnight!

Please, allow me to say this; WOW!!!! what a night of fights for real fight fans? This may very well be one of the best cards matchmaker John Bryant has ever put together, at least here in Louisiana, very equal to the fights in Rayne on June 4th, I doubt we can get anyone to say it was anything less then a Sensational 6! I mentioned to EVERYONE, Thursday Night Fights in Rayne are HOT.
Starting the night off, Quantis Graves against Haymond Howard Jr., Howard being very awkward, caused a small bit of problem for Quantis early on, but it took very little time to figure the awkward Howard out, finding the straight right hand, along with some heavy body shots, Howard looked like he was a goner in the very first round. He did battle back while making a galant effort, but his effort was cut short, as Quantis pummeled him. Quantis comes to fight and guts it out everytime to find himself with his hands raised in victory. With the win Quantis is 5-0-2ko's.
Next up, "Blazin an Amazin'" Todd Manuel (Red's member). Todd would go to WAR, I mean absolute 100% WAR in this fight. Went at it with 1-0 Triston Tod, these two boys fought with everything they had in them. It was a see saw battle, Todd had a problem with his mouthpiece and lost a point, Todd Manuel landed big shot after big shot, only to be answered by Triston with big shot after big shot. This was a FIGHT, I mean a real FIGHT. If you were there, and seen this fight? You received a treat!! Towards the end of the 4th round, I was questioning, how are they still standing? Not only were they still standing, but they were still fighting with everything they had in them. WOW!! Yep! It was one of those fights, unfortunately in the end, Manuel lost yet another fight. I look forward to Todd coming back to the gym with a vengeance! Not one person can say one thing about this fight but, WOW!! Todd Manuel moves to 4-3.
Casey Adams whom came to Rayne like he owned the place, may have very well been given stock in the city of Rayne, at least with that straight right hand knockout, over James Day. I did not see this fight, but I did hear that Casey planted a straight right hand on MR. Day like he owned rights to his chin. I look forward to seeing Casey fight here with us all again. With the victory Casey moves to 3-0_2ko's.
In a coming out party, Bailey "Bang Bang" Bobbitt (Red's member) did what I said he could not do, knock Tyrone Dowdy out. 4 win Dowdy vs. 5 win Bobbitt, I watched Bailey follow directions to a "T", we all know Dowdy is a big puncher, Bailey went out there very calm and poised, with a task at hand. Normally Bailey is bouncing up and down, moving all over, not this time; no, Bailey was focused and tuned into do his job. Bailey worked angles, Bailey popped him with a right, then a left and a right. Bailey did things on this night, in this ring, I did not know he was able to do. This is by FAR the best performance of Bailey's entire boxing career. Bailey took chances and was hit with shots, only to come right back and catch Dowdy with more shots. Then Bailey hit Dowdy with a flush right hand, which seemed to hurt Dowdy, Bailey went for broke, then Dowdy broke. In the 3rd round Bailey "Bang Bang" Bobbitt claimed win number 6. WOW!! Can we hear it for Bailey? Bailey is a great guy and is becoming a great fighter. Watch "Bang Bang"!!
My GOD!! Did you actually sit and watch this fight, you know? The one between Josh Joseph and Kelvin Williams? What a fight, YOUCH!! Josh Joseph and Kelvin Williams beat the poop out of one another. This was a back and forth, big shot after big shot fight. This fight was indeed a great little scrap in itself!! By the end of the 4th round with both guys hammering one another, still standing and still fighting with every ounce of energy they had in them. I thought Josh was going to close the show on a couple of occassions, but Williams would always find his way back into the heart of the battle. Josh came to get his just due, but so did Williams, back and forth action all the way until the last bell. In the end? Josh Joseph moves to 4-0-2ko's. I applaud these 2 warriors!
Bobby "The Prodigy" Bryant was in a great little fight. In the very first round, Bobby hit Felix with a left hook to the body, Felix goes down, only to return to his feet and come back fighting. I surely thought it would be over, very soon. To my surprise, Felix would continue to battle back each and everytime Bobby would catch him. He fought and fought and never even looked like he was going anywhere, actually landed a couple good shots on Bobby, only to have Bobby crack him right back. In the end Bobby "The Prodigy" Bryant was victorious and he is now 12-0-8ko's.
