The National Senior Games competition for 50-64 age group track and field has just finished. Two of Red's members set national senior games records: Greg Vidos and Caryl Chlan! Greg had a fantastic day of jumping while Caryl's feet stayed busy. The weather was tough – very hot air temps at or near 100, huge winds, and the expected humidity.
Caryl Chlan dominated the women's 55-59 age groups.
4 X 100 M relay, 1st place team
400 M Dash, 2nd place
800 M Dash, broke the previous Senior Games record only to come in second to the new record holder
1500 M run, 1st place (now holds the NSGA record) – this was only the second time she had competed
in a 1500 M run
Discus 8th place
Shot put 8th place
Greg Vidos breaks a record in the men's 50-54
High Jump, 1st place (now holds the NSGA record)
Also racking up the medals was Vince Breaux:
3rd Place Shot put with a distance of 11.56 M
3rd Place Hammer Throw with a distance of 37.31 M
3rd Place Javelin with a distance of 39.69M
5th Place Discus with a distance of 36.53M
