I want to introduce you to this new app called “Fooducate”. It’s a free app and it’s so useful and easy to use. It was recently highlighted in the IDEA Fitness Journal and was introduced to me by one of the fitness trainers. It was created by dietitians and concerned parents to help you simplify product information and make better food choices. With all the tricky advertising these days, it’s hard to know what exactly a good product is. This app helps translate the confusing nutrition lingo and helps you see stuff that manufacturers don’t want you to notice, such as excessive sugar, preservatives, etc. It is extremely easy to use, all you do is scan the barcode of the food you are interested in and it will grade the food from A to D. It highlights good and bad points of the food and the coolest thing, I think, is it also lists alternative foods that are similar and have the same or better grades! What a great tool to use when grocery shopping! It also lets you scan two foods and compare them to see which a better choice is for you, your kids, etc. This will help give you new food and meal ideas which are two of the biggest problems I get from clients. It has a database of over 200,000 foods. If your product is not in the database, all you have to do is scan a picture of the product, nutrition label, and ingredients and Fooducate will enter the product for you. Its Free and Works on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
Download it today and enjoy!
