Vince Breaux competed on November 6th, 7th and 8th at the WPC World Powerlifting and Benchpress Championships in Las Vegas. It was the biggest meet that he had ever competed in, with 760 lifters from 37 countries. Russia, Hundary and Slovakia seemed to have the most lifters with USA having 20%0 or less of the lifters.
Vince competed in the 65 – 69 age group, 220# class. In the Raw Benchpress on the 6th, Vince broke the world record on all 4 attempts ending with 347.0#. In the Equipped Benchpress on the 7th, Vince broke the world record with 424.2#.
The Raw Full Meet was on the 8th for Squat, Benchpress and Deadlift. He won the Squat, but not close to a world record, though, it was an American Record. The Benchpress portion was a world record ending up with a 341.5# press. Deadlift was also a world record with a 457.2# lift.
In all, Vince ended the meet with 4 World Records and 5 American Records. "The excitement of the competition is still there and that makes it all worth the time training in the gym," says Vince. He was also able to bring both of his sons with him so that made it even more special.
Congrats again, Vince!
