by Chad Broussard First of all, I give all the glory to God for "our" overwhelming support for the fight night. I would like to thank the Hilton Lafayette and Legend's for their gracious contribution to my fighters future. Thank you so much Jarred Doise owner of Legend's an absolute God sent to 'our' team, thanks!
Thank you so much for pouring into the Hilton Grand Ballroom in such LARGE numbers.
Starting our night off was the long awaited match of Bailey Bobbitt against Ernest Parfait. Parfait told me he had been training and would not lose to a kid with only 1 fight, well that was not the case, Bailey kept his distance working behind a sharp crisp jab. Parfait would visit the canvas once but was getting it handed to him in every round. Bobbitt was too strong and too fast for Parfait and in the end Bailey would be declared the winner by unanimous decision. With the win Bailey is now 2-0-1ko
Brad "Buzy Bee' Solomon from Lafayette,La. now living in Georgia came to town to show his friends why he is undefeated, he clocked Richard Dinkins with a left hook to the body and that was the end of that! KO in the very first round!
I stated earlier, I hope I get to see Todd Manuel get serious in the ring and fight, for real! Well, I received my wish exactly, as I wanted!! Todd Manuel fought very tough Tyrone Dowdy only thing is Todd never for one second allowed Dowdy in the fight, heck Todd even floored Dowdy once, this was by far Todd's most serious fight as well as win, and he looked as a seasoned professional, I really think everyone had the opportunity to see Todd Manuel is for real! Todd moves to 3-0, keep in mind; Todd is only 17 years old!
Next up was "Rock Hard Mighty" Mason Menard fighting very tough Reggie "Two Gun" Nash, Nash has beaten 4 undefeated fighters in his career. Nash was bigger than Mason and sure looked alot stronger. Poised and confident I was able to see Mason feeling this guy out looking for the sweet spot, trying to find his rythem. after all this guy was surely bigger then Mason and appeared to be stronger? It did not take long for Mason to find his place when he started unleashing bombs on Nash. Nash, basically laughed at Mason as he was getting slammed with hooks and right hands. After the second round when Mason gets to the corner, I ask him if he knows how to throw body shots? Says yeah! So I say to him, then let's check his body, because he has a very hard head. In the third round Mason began going right back to work on Nash and the shot opened and there it went, left hook to the body and that was the end, in three rounds 'Rock Hard Mighty" Mason Menard would win the fight with a very impressive left hook to the body in only 3 rounds! With the win Mason moves to 11-1-9ko's.
Bobby "The Prodigy" Bryant would waste no time as he assaulted Marshall Beard in less than a minute of the very first round. Watching Bobby fight one would never, ever think this kid had his leg cut off? Bobby's dad John has been an absolute blessing in getting these fights off the ground! Thanks John!
Main event was for the Louisiana Jr. Middleweight title, our boy "The Lethal Weapon" had the opportunity to fight for a title. Watching Jarred over the past several weeks, seeing his growth, and the confidence he has in his ability, was breathtaking! Pre fight, warming Jarred up; I noticed the fire in his eyes, the hunger in his heart, the passion for the sport. His opponent Juliano Ramos 15 wins, 3losses, 12ko's the anticipation of a tough fight would be an understatement. Jarred was 110% ready, and I was honored to be by his side. I knew we were in a tough fight, however I knew: that I knew "we" were gonna win this fight. Ecspecially watching Jarred work so hard in the gym! Jarred comes out behind a very sharp crisp jab, as it seems to land at will. Jarred is moving and slipping very well, then; he lands a strong right hand left hook combination that seems to stun Ramos, basically Ramos was in our corner, stunned apparently; "The Lethal Weapon" opened the flood gates and had Ramos in serious trouble as he pounded on him with right hands, left hooks and uppercuts, I am seriously thinking; the referee is gonna stop this fight. Ramos was getting blistered that bad, Ramos returned not one shot back, after getting hit with at least 15-20 unanswered shot's, Leblanc goes down! What? Leblanc down? I look as I see the PAIN in his eyes! Referee calls the Dr. into the ring and the Dr. stopped the fight, seems Leblanc tore his achillies tendon. The unimaginable amount of heart and determination showed by Leblanc, with a torn achillies tendon got up and tried to walk and bounce attempting to continue in the fight! The Dr. says no way! At 1:55 of the first round in which Jarred was dominating! The fight had to be stopped! It's not right, there has to be something that can be done? I spoke to our wonderful commissioner and he is going to do everything in his power to get the fight over turned to a no-contest! That would allow for a re-match. I ask for one thing, everyone please pray for Jarred's healing. Looks like surgery is inevitable but my God is so big, he melts mountains like wax! We love you Jarred and we are praying for you! We are very proud of you!
Thanks Acadiana and people all about, for your love support and prayers! "We" gonna be back, better then ever!! Can't stop, won't stop, don't know how to stop! Jarred Leblanc.
