To every single person that piled into the Rayne Civic Center, THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH! What a night of action packed, hard hitting action! WOW! In what may have been the largest attendance for a fight, in the city of Rayne; ever!!
Starting the night off was Bailey Bobbitt to do battle with Daniel Foxworth, fight starts fighters walk out, Bailey throws a jab, it lands then he immediately follows it with a hard right. While Foxworth is crashing down Bailey unleash's 2 more punches, down goes Foxworth, down went Foxworth. That would be the end of Mr. Foxworth! in 30 somewhat seconds of the first round Bailey Bobbitt moves to 3-0-2ko's.
Second fight was "The Candyman" Blake Prevost preping himself for his August showdown on ESPN. His opponent Joey Hixon, actually made for an interesting fight, interesting due to the fact that one may ask? How many punches can 1 man take from another. That was the story as Blake; looked great cutting, turning, moveing and just breaking down the very tough and durable Joey Hixon. "The Candyman" Blake Prevost wins by way of unanimous decision.
In the 3rd fight of the night, Ashley Alvarado literally did everything but tear Shimone Brooks head off. What a scrapper that Ashley is, She wore this girl out, before the referee decided he had seen enough, calling a halt to the fight in the 2nd round. I look forward to having Ashley on another card. Great job Ashley!
In what I had said would be the fight of the night; nearly was, as Gary Bergeron and Reggie Nash went to war, these 2 guys waged war against one another with neither giving ground to the other. Gary hit Nash with good body shots and great head shots. Nash would answer back immediately with his own combination. A see saw battle is what this turned into, from where I was I think Gary was coming out on the better side of things but Nash refusing to go away, continued pushing forward. In the 4th round Gary Bergeron hit Nash with a body shot, and Nash quickly disapeared to the canvas while the referee would count him out. Bergeron wins by knockout in the 4th round. Gary became an instant fan favorite and we look forward to seeing more of Gary Bergeron in the near future.
Todd Manuel took on very, very tough and game Dominique Azez, the 2 went at it, in Todd's first scheduled 6 rounder he made good moves and landed some clean shots scoring a knockdown in the 3rd, but simply unable to finish the veteran Azez. Todd worked well in spots, as we watch him grow over his past few fights. He went through the 6 rounds with both shoulders being in pain and came out winning the fight unanimously.
"The Prodigy" Bobby Bryant would do battle with tough and ready Antonio Adams, I did not see 1 second of this fight, however I know Bobby brings excitment to the show as I was able to hear the fans going crazy, while I was way back in the dressing room. Bobby managed to pull out a 4 round knockout and with that moves to 5-0-4ko's.
For the U.B.O. All American Lightweight Title "Rock Hard Mighty" Mason Menard VS. Robbie "Peashooter" Cannon over 10 rounds. Fighters were introduced in grand fashion as Mason received a warm hometown welcome from all the great fans that were there. Fights starts and Mason just sat in the pocket as that is what we worked on, when Cannon would make a mistake Mason would make him pay for it, in a big way. Menard was landing clean shots at will, but was never really close enough to the taller Cannon to really dig down. I feel as though Mason won the first 2 rounds fairly easy, then the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th rounds I felt myself having to bargain with Menard, insisting! Mason! You are allowing this boy to control the tempo, he is hitting you with shots and he is getting very brave, it's time to fight like the champion you claim to one day be! Honestly, Mason looked like a roach in a puddle of syrup, really can't get going, 1 punch here, 2 punches there, very stale and so flat. Where is the angles? The fire? the precision punches? The speed? the movement? where is it son? Something happened between the sixth and seventh round, Mason came out on "FIRE" that's all it took, a very well placed left hook to the chin, Cannon comes crashing down, 34 seconds of the 7th round the fight was over! "Rock Hard Mighty" Mason Menard found what all champions find in themselves; the will to win at all cost! Refuse to lose! We have a brand new U.B.O. All America Lightweight Champion from Rayne, Louisiana "Rock Hard Mighty" Mason Menard. (Mason is a boxing Personal Trainer at Red's)

A special note from Red's Newsletter Editor:
This is the second of Boxncar Promotions' fight night that I have had the privilege of attending. OMG, if you've never experienced live professional boxing, you might want to make a mental note not to miss Chad's next night of fights. With Chad's phenomenal lineup there will surely be much more excitement to come. Congratulations to all the fighters, especially Red's members, Mason Menard, Todd Manuel and Bailey Bobbitt.
