With fall approaching and summer gone, a lot of your favorite fruits are going to be hard to find. No sweat, Kumquats are in season! These small orange fruits are at their peak from October to June, so you should be seeing them in your local markets soon. When shopping look for firm and unblemished fruit. These little gems will keep for three days at room temperature and up to two weeks in the refrigerator. If you are like me, I find myself avoiding oranges because I have to peel them and it can get messy. Not these! You just pop them in your mouth, skin and all. Three kumquats only have 39 calories, and they contain 3 grams of fiber as well as 42% of your daily vitamin C needs. Yum, Enjoy!
