After the fight's last night? I walked to my truck, turned on the radio, the song "How Great is Our God" was playing. I almost cried. as I thought about all the adversity we walked through before this fight, then! to have a night like that! WOW! Praise Jesus!
To EVERY single person in which made this night possibe, THANK YOU very much. To ALL the sponsors; for the table's, for the lighting system, for every single thing that went on last night, it is because of your love and support. Makes doing this a whole lot easier. From ALL the fighters, from myself…THANK YOU!
There were a couple last minute replacemements in opponents however, the entire night was a sensational night of boxing. Any time we do a card and the person that is least suspected to tko someone, then he does it, it is good. There were 6 bout's in all, 5 going the distance, with only 1 late 4th round tko. These fight's were a feast for your eyes! high quality fight's at it's best! In Rayne Louisiana, gotta love that?
Starting out the night was Quantis Graves, as he would do battle with Jamell Williams. Listen? Quantis has not boxed in a couple years, I have heard Williams would be in great shape. Quantis trying to shake some ring rust off, worked well in spots trying to figure out the awkward Williams, I kept repeating myself in the corner. Quantis he runs forward and sticks his chin in the air. Slip over to your right and throw a right hand with a left hook, behind it. So at 1 minute 20 seconds of the 4th and last round? Quantis Graves stepped to his right shot the right hand, it landed and hurt Williams. then Quantis threw a barrage of punches halting the action. with the WINNER by 4th round TKO….Quantis Graves. This moves Graves record to 3-0-1ko.
In the second bout of the night were 2 heavyweight's, I did not see any part of this fight. I do know that Nathaniel Heaven won a 4 round decision over Mike Lane.
What was supposed to be the 3rd bout of the evening Bailey "Bang Bang" Bobbitt was supposed to have an opponent an hour away since Friday, unfortunately Woford never made the last hour of his drive to fight Bailey. when this happens? It is very discouraging, train hard, work hard, listen well, then get to the fight. No one shows up to fight! It's all my fault!! hey! someone is responsible? I accept full responsibility, for this to all the fans that were there in Bailey's behalf? I am very sorry!
In the 3rd fight of the night featured Josh "Kool J" Joseph against tough, tough Miguel Alfaro. Josh worked beautiful in this fight. looked good, punched with some great shots, all the while Alfaro would make his attempt to battle back. All of Alfaro's attempts failed, at the end of 4 rounds? Josh Joseph moved another digit into the win colomn, moving his record to 2-0-1ko.
In the 4th bout of the evening young Bobby "The Prodigy" Bryant took on 80 fight veteran Marteze Logan. when Bobby's dad, who is our matchmaker, John; made that fight? I asked him if he was crazy? Marteze Logan is a very tough and durable fighter who has been in the ring with the VERY BEST this boxing world has to offer. I vividly remember Marteze Logan beating Hector Camacho Jr. in Kinder, La. getting a majority draw. Then I watched him simply, wear out then undefeated Americo Santos 23-0 in Connecticut, that fight was on TV. Bobby Bryant is 18 yeard old. I was thinking? John!! You kidding me, right? You will not put Bobby in the ring with this monster? Well he did! to my surprise only seeing 2 minutes of the fight, looked to me like Bobby Bryant did his thing! great showing Bobby, thank you very much John for all you do for all of us! a very special friend came to me after this fight and said; Chad! Man! That Bobby can fight, huh? I just laughed and said; oh yes he can! Thank you Bobby for the showing! In the end Bobby "The Prodigy" Bryant was declared the winner by 6 round unanimous decision over Marteze Logan!
In the 5th. bout of the evening, we had to opportunity to see a high quality pairing of 2 local superstar fighters. "Blazin' an Amazin'" Todd Manuel took on 7-0 Travis Scott
from nearby Baton Rouge. the 2 went at it, in the very first round I noticed Travis was hitting Todd with pot shots(one shot, here and there) I scream for Todd to work angles, give him a different look, change it up. I don't think Todd started early enough, falling behind in the first 3. after 4 rounds in the corner I had it 3 rounds for Scott and maybe 1 even (this is my score, which means nothing) I did everything to get Todd to fight! slapped him, begged him, brought his mom, grandmother, girlfriend, friends into the scenario. Finally in the 5th round Todd started fighting! I think Todd won the 5th and I had to find a way to inspire him, to get moving in the 6th. last round and I have given him every single piece of motivation, I was able to muster up! in the 6th round BOTH guys looked like viking warriors, they went at it! I actually thought Todd caught Scott with a good right hand and hurt him. Scott evaded and further punches, finishing the 6th and final round with a standing ovation! These 2 guys both poured there hearts out, in the end Travis Scott wins by split decision, moving his record to 8-0-3ko's while Todd Manuel falls to 4-2. High quality fight. This was a great fight for everyone to see!!

In the main event of the evening your hometown boy "Rock Hard Mighty" Mason Menard would do battle with Aaron Anderson from Lexington, Kentucky. I was told upon taking this fight? Mason Menard CAN NOT knock this kid out. Knowing at this point we need to start going rounds? I said heck yeah! this is who we want! Mason did not KO this kid, not because he didn't try? I have never in my life ever see a kid get hit with such hard, beautiful shots, over and over again, then laugh about it. I seen Mason hit this kid with a right hand, left hook, then he laughed! when Mason came back to the corner? I laughed and said! should I disassemble the ring, give you the red corner post, to hit him with? Maybe that would work. Mason absolutely worked round after round worked angles, hit the body, almost tore his head off a couple times. All for Anderson to come right back at him. Anderson did taste the canvas on a couple occassions, only to raise himself back up and continue fighting. At the end of the 7th round Anderson was on wobbly legs, he was saved by the bell and in the 8th and final round I asked Mason? Can you give me 3 more minutes? That is what he did! Anderson pulled a shuffle/dance move, Mason answered him back with his shuffle/dance move, but Mason hit him with a 4 punch combination, trumping Anderson's dance/shuffle skills, and in the end; we saw "Rock Hard Might" Mason Menard fight, and fight strong and hard to be called; the winner by unanimous decision!
