Welcome to (RTA)Reds Tennis Academy
Our goal is to give everyone a chance to develop and grow as a tennis player to the best of their abilities. In order to do that we have divided our program into three sections; Junior Clinics, Minitennis Tour, and Junior Tour.
You start with the Junior Clinics where you will be learning the basics of tennis.
Anything from stroke technique, match preparation, match play, match strategy, mental toughness, footwork, eye-hand coordination, to fitness…
We offer several levels of play from minitennis/beginners to advanced players.
Next we have the Minitennis Tour or the Junior Tour depending on your age. If you are 10 and under you will start in the Minitennis Tour where you will play tournaments throughout the year and collect RTA points which will earn you a ranking among Red’s junior players. This will give you a first introduction to match play and give you invaluable match experience from an early age. You will learn match strategy, mental toughness, footwork, fitness etc during these tournaments.
If you are 11 and older then you will move on to the Junior Tour which consists of the Junior League and several tournaments throughout the year. In the Junior League you will be playing one match about every weekend until the league is over (about 5-8 weeks). If you can’t play on the designated time/day then you can contact your opponent and reschedule. In the Junior Tour Tournaments you play several matches in a tournament format during one or two days, usually during Saturday and/or Sunday. All of these events earn you points that will improve your ranking among Red’s juniors. The Point Standings and current rankings are listed on this website together with other info you would need to stay informed about our programs.
If you are interested in participating in RTA then simply fill out an entry form at the front desk at any time during the year or download the entry form and print it out by clicking HERE.
We are looking forward to seeing you on the court soon… Remember that we were all beginners at one time… even Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, The Williams sisters… they have come a long way, maybe you can too. |
